How to Capture Eyes on Social Media

Ah, the infamous social media scroll. How are you to catch a person’s eye as they scroll mindlessly through hundreds of posts? When it comes to video, always upload natively. Don’t just upload to YouTube and share that video on other networks; you should upload your video directly to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using their “upload video” tools.

#ProTip: Always upload native video.

Native videos consistently catch more eyes than all other posts. That’s because a native video appears larger in newsfeeds and automatically plays as a user scrolls to it. On Facebook, native videos have a 10x higher reach than YouTube links, on Twitter, they get retweeted 2.8x more. To help our clients get the maximum reach out of their video, we always create separate versions optimized for social media. It only takes our clients a few seconds to upload these extra versions, but it makes their videos much more likely to capture those restless eyes of social media users.
