Born of a Virgin – Fulton Sheen Timeless Wisdom

The Son of God needed a pure vessel to usher him into this world, so he was born of the Virgin Mary. As master teacher and theologian Fulton Sheen explains, the virgin birth was the only way for Christ to both partake in humanity and yet be untainted by the fallen, sinful nature of humankind. Sheen compares the role of the Blessed Mother to that of a river lock that can be used to usher a ship from dirty waters into pure waters.
