How to apply for (and win) a grant for video

There are thousands of grants awarding millions of dollars each year – and many of them are specifically for marketing projects. If you’ve got your eyes on a marketing grant to fund your dream video project, here’s how you make a proposal that stands out.

1. Focus on the result - how will the money concretely impact your community?

2. Write a cover letter introducing yourself and outlining why you are the best organization to receive the funds.

3. Detail why you need the funds and what success looks like. Make sure to focus on the results and include statistics.

4. Outline your video plan and your budget. You can contact a video pro to write a proposal for you (for free!)

5. Write out the ways that you will effectively use and share the video.

The marketing money is already out there waiting for you. Lead with results, connect it to your mission, and provide a detailed video strategy that will achieve those results. And you’ll have the funding to create your dream video project in no time.
