Start Your Garden… in February
Ready. Set. GROW! It may still be snowy outside, but that’s no excuse for not starting your garden. Plants grown from seeds can be started indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost date. By the time spring officially begins, your garden will be well on its way to producing fruits and vegetables.
Find the seeds you like, get some good gardening soil and go at it. If you don’t have pots for planting, try using egg cartons or toilet paper rolls. Be creative! If you don’t know when your last frost date is or when to start specific plants, we refer you to the Old Farmer’s Almanac planting calendar (https://www.almanac.com/gardening/planting-calendar). This time of year can be a little dreary and it helps to have the hope of spring planted in your house and heart. Happy growing!
