Why “Less is More” in Video Production
The catchphrase “less is more” doesn’t just apply to toilet paper – it’s often very relevant to video production. It is very easy to overwhelm the audience trying to squeeze in a ton of information into a few minutes.
#ProTip: Make sure your audience can quickly understand your video.
Keep in mind that, in a video, words and images disappear into the air. The audience isn’t reading a book, they can’t go back and re-read something they don’t understand. They must be able to follow what is said and displayed as it happens. In the planning stages, read your script aloud, or try to tell a friend (I mean literally explain it out loud) about your concept. If your words and ideas are not understandable the first time through, it’s time to simplify.
